An elderly widow who slipped and banged her head in an unlit pub toilet was awarded £2,000 damages yesterday.

An elderly widow who slipped and banged her head in an unlit pub toilet was awarded £2,000 damages yesterday.

Ms Frances Comerford, of Rialto Cottages, Dublin 8, sued the owner of Morrissey's, Cork Street, at Dublin Circuit Civil Court, over the accident which occurred on February 21st 1994. She told the court that when the toilet door closed behind her she was in darkness and had to crawl around to find her way out after she fell.
