A motorist who pleaded guilty to causing £1,967 worth of criminal damage to a bus when he smashed its windscreen in what was described as "a classic road rage incident" has been given four months to pay compensation.

Noel Crowley (51), from Ardmore Avenue, Knocknaheeny, Cork felt aggrieved after bus driver Tim Savage overtook him on the main Cork-Macroom Road on November 14th last. He pulled in front of him and forced him to stop before attacking the bus, Coachford District Court heard yesterday.
