ANKARA - Seventeen members of a Turkish human rights organisation charged with issuing "separatist propaganda" were acquitted here yesterday by the State Security Court.

Mr Akin Birdal, president of the Turkish Human Rights Association (IHD), Mr Husnu Ondul, the group's secretary general, and 15 others were charged in connection with an IHD statement published in September last year to coincide with World Peace Day, IHD said.
