The comedian Brendan O'Carroll addressed about 150 people at an antidrugs rally in Ballymun, Dublin, last night.

The rally was the second organised by the recently formed group, Ballymun Residents Against Drugs (BRAD). A BRAD spokesman read out letters from two alleged local drug dealers he said had given undertakings to end their involvement in drugs.

Mr O'Carroll urged the crowd to be aware of "what's going on in your building, your landing, your lift shaft." Gardai would do the rest, he said.

The crowd protested outside flats on Sillogue Road against an alleged drug dealer living there, chanting "pushers out" and "killer, killer, killer".
