A GROUP of 11 children and one adult were rescued last night after having been missing for over six hours on the Galtee Mountains, writes Pamela Newenham.

The group from Co Cork, were reported missing at around 3pm yesterday in bad weather conditions in the Tipperary mountain range. They were found by members of the South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association at around 9.30pm last night and escorted off the mountain. A spokesman for the South Eastern Mountain Rescue Association said that the entire group were found safe and well. The search was co-ordinated by the gardaí.
