Dhaka - Nearly 100 people were injured in sporadic street clashes between rival political activists during an oppositionled transport blockade in Bangladesh yesterday, witnesses said.

Bangladesh Nationalist Party and allied right-wing groups blockaded trains and roads in the latest opposition protest aimed at bringing down the government. Their rivals, mostly from ruling Awami League, turned out in force to break the blockade, police said.
