£1.5m plan for pub rejected

Plans to transform a Galway city pub into a £1.5 million hotel development have been refused because it would not be in keeping with the area and would contravene the city's development plan. Galway Corporation has rejected the proposal from the owners of the Huntsman pub on College Road.
