Three people remain in custody tonight in connection with Northern Ireland’s biggest heroin seizure.

Three people remain in custody tonight in connection with Northern Ireland’s biggest heroin seizure.

The drugs were recovered when a car was stopped on the Foyle Bridge in Derry at around 1am this morning.

Police said eight kilos of the drug were recovered during a search of the vehicle.

Police said the total haul, including a quantity of ecstasy, is worth £1.5 million.

Two men aged 41 and 28 and a woman aged 24 were arrested at the scene.
