Ingredients
- 85g demerara sugar
 - 1tsp ground ginger
 - ½tsp ground nutmeg
 - ½tsp cinnamon
 - 8 cloves
 - 1 pinch fennel seeds
 - 4 slices dried orange
 - 1 bottle red wine, I use shiraz
 
- Mix the sugar with the spices in a jar and shake to combine. Place the orange slices on top.
 - To make the mulled wine, tip the contents of the jar into a muslin bag or cloth and gather up the corners. Simmer gently in red wine until just warm enough to drink. Be careful not to let it boil.
