Weaker-then-expected growth in the narrow measure of the money supply will not influence the decision on whether interest rates in Britain should be raised later this week, analysts said.

M0, which includes banks' operational deposits as well as notes and coin is rising at 5.9 per cent a year - well outside the government's monitoring range - according to figures published yesterday.
