EXECUTIVE directors' salaries at Waterford Foods rose sharply last year, with the average remuneration rising from £121,000 to almost £195,000. The two executive directors chief executive Mr Malt Walsh and finance director Mr Michael Dempsey shared total payments of £389,000. This was made up of salaries of £285,000, benefits in kind of £3,000, performance related bonus of £47,000 and pension contributions of £54,000.

In 1994, when there were three executive directors, the total remuneration was £425,000.
