The Margin remembers the marketing fiasco that was Guinness Light. It had a strange taste and drinkers were slow to change from the conventional pint they were used to. However, Dublin's most famous brewery is trying once more to introduce new versions of Uncle Arthur's famous brew. They are being offered on a test basis and are collectively known as the St James's Gate Beers. No one knows whether they will follow other marketing flops like Cherry Cola into obscurity. But the price at £2.60-£2.70 a pint will make it an uphill struggle!
