FOLLOWING the lead of other financial institutions, Ulster Bank has announced interest rate increases of between 0.35 of a percentage point to 0.5 of a percentage point. The variable mortgage rate has gone up from 7.15 per cent to 7.5 per cent.

Overdraft and term loans rates have risen by half a percentage point. Deposit rates have been increased by between a quarter and a half percentage point.
