THE first nine months of 1996 were a record for British stock market flotations with more than £8 billion sterling raised from new share issues, according to a report published today KPMG Corporate Finance. The previous record was in the corresponding period in 1994 when new issues raised some £7.7 billion. So far this year, 81 market flotations have raised a total of £8.14 billion.
