TUSKAR Resources has commenced drilling on its appraisal well in the Niger Delta, offshore Nigeria. The Obe-4 well, located in shallow water - 67 feet - is programmed to penetrate the oil bearing zones as tested in two other wells, Obe-1 and Obe-3.

Drilling is expected to take 30 days and this will be followed by a testing programme. This is Tuskar's first well being drilled as the technical operator. The Obe Oil Field is part of the OML 110 offshore concession which covers 240,000 acres.
