Taxi booking network Click a Taxi has announced $1.5 million in funding as it seeks to expand its reach in Europe. The company, which operates in Ireland, said it would expand in Germany, Switzerland and Austria.

The second round of funding sees Podio chief executive Tommy Ahlers back the taxi-booking company.

Copenhagen-based Click A Taxi launched its service in Ireland during the summer. It partners local taxi firms to allow customers book taxis throughout the State and get updates on their expected arrival time.
