The Government yesterday announced funding of €1.6 million for 27 research projects with significant commercial prospects.

The Government yesterday announced funding of €1.6 million for 27 research projects with significant commercial prospects.

This is to be channelled through Science Foundation Ireland’s Technology Innovation Development Award, which aims to realise a greater economic impact from investment in research.

Minister for Research and Innovation Seán Sherlock said the research-industry link was an “imperative for Government, enterprise and the wider science community”.
