A MAJORITY of Swedes are opposed to Sweden joining a single European currency, a survey by a national polling company said on Tuesday. The Swedish Institute of Public Opinion Research (SIFO) said the poll found 56 per cent of Swedes did not want their country to join European Monetary Union (EMU) which is due to be launched in 1999.
