THE offer of shares in Sun Life & Provincial, the British and Irish arm of French insurer UAP, was two to three times oversubscribed, the company said yesterday. Shares were floated on the stock market with a price tag of 235p, in the middle of the forecast range, valuing the company at £1.3 billion sterling. About 11,000 individual investors applied for shares under the retail offer.
