THE British Stock Exchange is to shed 120 jobs in addition to 300 announced some time ago, it revealed yesterday. The job cuts are part of its fundamental strategy review to slash costs and fend off increasing competition.

It believes it can remain competitive with a cost base of £120 million sterling and with a staff of about 550, a reduction of 120 on the current staff numbers.
