Ireland was now the world's second-largest exporter of software after the US, the Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment said yesterday when launching a trade mission by eight software companies to Silicon Valley, California. Ms Harney said the mission would generate an estimated £600,000 in extra business over the next 15 months in an industry which would achieve export sales worth over £2.5 billion this year.
