THE Smurfit Job Creation Enterprise fund has invested £250,000 in the Dundalk software services group, Facility Management Workshop.

The company, which employs 14 people, now expects to increase its workforce to 30 over the next three years with the support of the funds. FMW provides computer mapping applications for cable TV, telecoms and network users in Ireland, Britain and Europe. The company has also received additional funds, as part of a business development investment by the State agency Forbairt.

Both Forbairt and the Smurfit Job Creation fund have taken a stake in FMW. The company said yesterday that the investment will allow it to focus on developing new computer mapping applications needed to plan and manage complex networks.
