Jefferson Smurfit Group now holds more than 62 per cent of the shares of Norcor Holdings, the British packaging group for which it has launched a £18 million sterling takeover bid. Smurfit disclosed that it bought 2.78 million Norcor shares yesterday, bringing its own stake to 40.3 per cent. In addition, Smurfit has irrevocable acceptances in respect of Linpac's 21.8 per cent stake.
