ROLLS ROYCE, the British defence and aerospace group, yesterday clinched its second big order in as many weeks as it unveiled details of a contract to supply Singapore airline, SilkAir, with jet engines which would net Rolls up to £46 million.

SilkAir, an Asian regional carrier, has also ordered eight aeroplanes from Airbus Industrie, the European consortium in which British Aerospace has a 20 per cent stake.
