A £15 MILLION sterling shopping centre, to be built in Lurgan, Co Armagh, will create around 700 jobs. The redevelopment project is being undertaken by the London property group, Kimberley Securities.

The chief executive of Kimberley Securities, Mr David Anderson, said: "This is the first provincial town centre scheme to get the go ahead since the ceasefire. It's also the first to attract significant mainland backing from the private sector.

Every single one of the 136,000 square feet is tangible proof of the economic benefits that concerted community action can bring in the light of the new political situation."
