THE Minister for Enterprise and Employment, Mr Richard Bruton, has appointed Mr Liam McElligott as chairman of the board of Shannon Development. Mr McElligott, who is managing director of Finsa Forest Products in Scarriff, Co Clare, succeeds Mr Michael Punch who has retired "for business reasons". Announcing the new appointment yesterday, Mr Bruton said it was particularly important for the board to "fully exploit" business opportunities under Mr McElligott's chairmanship.
