ONE MORE THING:SOME OF Ireland's top lawyers, accountants, bankers and PR executives will swap their suits for running gear next Thursday when they line out in Grant Thornton's inaugural corporate 5km team challenge around Dublin's Docklands.

It costs €100 for a team of four to enter and, with about 1,500 people expected to participate, a healthy five-figure sum should be raised for the St Vincent de Paul charity.

Grant Thornton’s managing partner Paul McCann has confidently installed his hotshot corporate finance team as 4-1 favourites to bring home the bacon.

Law firm Matheson Ormsby Prentice are second favourites at 6-1.

There should be plenty of competition between the various professions to outdo each other.

While not exactly renowned for his athleticism, McCann told me that he will be actively participating on the night.

“I’m modelling myself on Irish Olympic boxing coach Zaur Antia, providing support and mopping brows rather than putting myself directly in the competitive firing line,” he said.
