French food and nutrition company Danone was last night honoured as the “Best French Company in Ireland” at the 2012 Ireland-France Business Awards.

The company, which has increased its turnover by 57 per cent over the past three years at its Wexford and Macroom plants, was honoured for its investment in Ireland and its commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Two Irish companies jointly received the “Best Irish company in France” award – agricultural machinery producer Tanco Autowrap, and Tricel SASU, a company which manufactures wastewater treatment systems. Both have successfully penetrated the French market.
