Údarás na Gaeltachta client companies created 700 jobs last year, the authority responsible for development across the Gaeltacht said in its end of year report yesterday.

Total employment in Údarás client companies stood at 7,553 at 2012 year end, of which 6,933 are full-time jobs and 620 are part-time jobs. The authority said Gaeltacht companies had stabilised their employment base, becoming more competitive and export orientated. Exports sales were up 10 per cent to €452 million, according to research undertaken by Forfás.
