CARLTON Communications, the broadcasting and media services group, yesterday hit the big screen with the news it had bought Cinema Media formerly Rank Screen Advertising for £58.5 million sterling in cash.

"This brings Carlton another market leading business in screen based entertainment with excellent growth prospects," said chairman Mr Michael Green.
