CURRENT trading at Irish Continental Group "remains satisfactory", the company's chairman, Mr Tom Toner, told shareholders at its annual general meeting. Speaking after the meeting, the chief executive, Mr Eamon Rothwell, said while ICG had benefited from the late arrival of the new Stena Sealink super ferry on the Dun Laoghaire Holyhead route, the company was not particularly concerned about its advent. "There's room for both companies," he said.

Asked about the possible impact of the collapse of the ceasefire on the Irish Sea routes, Mr Rothwell said that, while the peace process had been a bonus, business had been growing by 7-8 per cent per year even before the ceasefire.
