O'BRIEN'S Irish Sandwich Bars would create 200 new jobs as part of an expansion in Ireland, Britain and Sweden, the company said yesterday. The franchise will open 12 new outlets this year in Ireland, a further 12 in Britain, and a pilot store in Malmo, Sweden. The firm's founder Mr Brody Sweeney said the bars had enjoyed exceptional success in 1996, doubling the number of outlets, and that the move into the British market had gone well.
