Scottish & Newcastle yesterday agreed to acquire 311 pubs from the Grand Pub Company for £206 million sterling. The brewing and pubs group took a step closer to achieving its goal of becoming a managed pub estate after selecting the bars from Grand Pub's portfolio of 4,300 pubs in the UK.
