The retrial of former financier Mr Finbarr Ross at Belfast Crown Court has been fixed for the beginning of September.

Mr Ross faces 29 fraud and false-accounting charges related to the collapse of his company, International Investments Ltd, which collapsed in 1984 with debts of more than £7 million. He denies the charges.

The retrial is expected to last six or eight weeks. A jury failed last month to reach a majority verdict in the original trial, which lasted six weeks. Mr Ross is currently on bail, residing at his sister's home in Macroom, Co Cork.

It is understood a jury will be chosen on Wednesday, September 6th.
