RETAIL sales are continuing to run well ahead of last year's levels according to the latest official figures. They show that the value of sales in June was 12.2 per cent higher than the same month last year, up from the 10.4 per cent rate of increase shown the previous month.

However, the value of sales in June was unchanged on the previous month, according to the Central Statistics Office data published yesterday.
