THE REVENUE Commissioners is seeking to wind up a group of companies controlled by fast-food supremos John and Patrick Cronin.

According to notices published yesterday, the Revenue Commissioners’ collector general, Gerard Harrahill, has filed a petition to wind up Q Co Franchising Ireland, Q Co Retail Ireland, Godfather Pizza Holdings and Godfather Pizza Leeson Street.

Petitions for winding up are normally taken by creditors owed money by the company involved.

All four companies are owned by the Cronins, who founded and grew the Godfather Pizza chain.

As a result of a deal done in 2008, the Cronins took over the delivery service franchise for Pizza Hut in Ireland.

The Revenue Commissioners do not comment on individual cases.

It was not possible to contact the Cronins for a comment yesterday.
