The Government will give priority to the commercialisation of research and development (R&D) from Irish universities in its jobs policies, Minister for Enterprise Richard Bruton has promised at a conference dedicated to tax incentives for R&D.

Mr Bruton said at the PricewaterhouseCoopers event in Dublin yesterday that it was a challenge for his department to help small Irish companies translate innovations that arise from R&D into commercially successful products.
