(I)Ms Elma Murphy, general manager of Hewlett-Packard Ireland (Sales) has resigned her position with the company, and will be succeeded by former HP country sales director, Mr Martin Murphy.

Following a global company reorganisation to shift Hewlett-Packard's focus from a product to a service-orientated business, Ms Murphy chose to leave HP Ireland rather than take up another role within the company. It is understood she will now pursue other business opportunities.

HP Ireland (Sales) employs more than 130 people at its sales, service and consulting office in Blackrock, and a further 2,000 people in Leixlip.
