MR Justice Murphy in the High Court yesterday adjourned for a week petitions to either wind up or appoint an examiner to the troubled Waterford shipping company, Eurocontainer Shipping (ECS).

The judge said that during the week inquiries could be made from the potential Norwegian investor Bryggen Finans whether they would produce £25,000 to meet expenses.
