Dutch telecommunications company KPN, which wants to sell its 21 per cent stake in Eircom, is in talks for an alliance or merger with NTT DoCoMo of Japan, the Financial Times reported yesterday. KPN declined to comment on the talks with NTT DoCoMo. And Spanish firm Telefonica confirmed yesterday that it also was in merger talks with KPN.
