BUILDING materials firm Redland yesterday warned it expected first half profits to be well down on 1995 after a poor start to the year.

Chairman Mr Rudolph Agnew told the annual meeting appalling weather during the winter in Europe had depressed results substantially in the first quarter. But conditions were recovering following the end of the freeze in March and Mr Agnew expected the second half to be broadly in line with that of last year.
