Online recruitment company Irishjobs.ie has said the recruitment market is becoming more stable.

Its June index measuring the number of recruitment adverts on its website found a 2 per cent drop compared to May.

However, because the May reading had seen a 7 per cent rise from April, the company believes the “decline in jobs experienced in the first quarter of 2009 has abated as there have been three months of stability in the marketplace”.

Last month there were increases in the number of adverts for engineering, utilities and technology jobs and small increases for beauty and leisure vacancies. The science, pharmaceutical and food sector saw a fall in vacancies.
