Two Irish firms have combined transaction security software with voice recognition software to develop a mobile transaction authentication product which recognises users' voices. Artic Web, using Buytel's Voicevault biometric verification system, will authenticate a user conducting a transaction over a mobile phone. The combined product is expected to be available commercially within three months and is expected initially to be offered through mobile operators or service providers.
