Germany's largest package holiday operator, Preussag, is expected to announce today an agreed takeover of Thomson Travel, the UK's biggest tour operator, trumping an earlier offer by rival C&N Touristic.
The companies reached agreement yesterday after a Preussag supervisory board meeting. Neither side was available for comment.
