Pretax profits up 47% at Getmobile

MOBILE PHONE company Getmobile has reported a 47 per cent rise in pretax profits to €1

MOBILE PHONE company Getmobile has reported a 47 per cent rise in pretax profits to €1.65 million for the six months to June 30th.

The Dublin IEX and London AIM-listed firm with mobile phone contracts in the German market said gross margins had increased from 8.5 per cent to 11.6 per cent.

Getmobile chairman Pierce Casey said the results had been driven by good margins and increasing internet sales which were more profitable.

The company's business model involved selling contracts bundled with a mobile phone handset and taking commission from operators and service providers.

The company reported sales of €49 million over the period.
