IN the edition of last Friday, November 22nd, in a profile of Mr Paddy Teahon the following sentence appeared: "Unlike his predecessor Padraig O hUiginn, Mr Teahon's political leanings are hard to grasp."

The Irish Times apologies to Mr O hUiginn and accepts that this reference is entirely incorrect and that Mr O hUiginn, as a senior civil servant, served all governments with complete impartiality.
