THE DÁIL’s spending watchdog will scrutinise crucial documents relating to the banking crisis today, and may call a witness from the Department of Finance.

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has been critical of the Government’s nine-week delay in providing documents but the department and committee will “dissect and discuss” their contents in a private session this morning.

Depending on the information contained in the documents, the PAC may decide to continue the meeting in public.
