Break for the Border has failed to find a buyer for the Gaiety Theatre in Dublin willing to pay the asking price of over £3 million. Break for the Border, a London-quoted company, made a strategic decision to concentrate on its pub/restaurant business last August and put the Gaiety up for sale, along with London venues the Empire and the Brixton Academy and a Birmingham premises. Mr John Costigan, the theatre director, said yesterday it was his understanding that there was no purchaser of the multi-venue theatre space off St Stephen's Green.
