Northern Ireland Electricity announced its prices for 2000/2001 yesterday, which will reduce costs for the typical domestic customer (using 3,300 units) by about 4.4 per cent or £13 sterling (21.37).

The new prices will apply to bills issued from April 2000 onwards. Bills have been simplified, with a removal of standing charges and the introduction of a single unit price.
