MR Sean Hehir (left), managing director of AIG Europe (Ireland), has been elected president of the Irish Insurance Federation, succeeding outgoing president, Mr John Gibson, of Friends Provident.

The IIF vice presidents for 1996-97 are Mr Kevin Murphy, chief executive, investments, Irish Life, and Mr John O'Hanlon, group chief executive, AGF Irish Life Holdings.
